Public Sector

The Government is looking to improve efficiency in service delivery, increase collaboration between councils and other public bodies, and see a wider use of business improvement techniques and greater reliance on fair and open competition.

The purpose is to change public perception and improve customer satisfaction by taking a more community focused role.  All local government service providers (education, social services, housing, emergency services, environmental services, highway and transport, and leisure) will be expected to add value by offering greater flexibility and choice, and engaging more effectively with local people.
