Construction Crafts

The UK construction industry is comprised of four main sectors: housebuilding, infrastructure, industrial construction and commercial construction*.

Outside the disastrous impact of the US subprime mortgage market, the industry is contending with serious skills shortfalls as a result of an ageing workforce.  Reduced demand and productivity pose real challenges but energy renewal and increased spending on infrastructure do present potential opportunities for the industry to grow.
