Warrington Business School will be helping local businesses and entrepreneurs to grow with a series of workshops and seminars aimed at bringing jobs and wealth to the region.

Innovation is often what distinguishes a leader from a follower, so said Steve Jobs, and can help small local businesses and entrepreneurs stay ahead of the competition.

Luckily, innovation is something that can be defined and taught. Warrington Collegiate has been awarded funding for local innovation initiatives via a substantial European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and will be supporting local entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs across the region as part of the SMART Cheshire programme.

The scheme, starting in February, will be delivered via a rolling programme and will help local businesses to innovate for growth.

The expertly run programme is completely fully funded to those in Warrington and Cheshire. It will engender new business ideas, businesses and eventually increase wealth and jobs in the region.

Individual representatives from these local businesses will undergo a structured programme of:

  • An individual innovation diagnostic to identify key areas for innovation and help develop new products and services for each local business on the programme.
  • Workshops including: How to develop new products, processes and services; getting ready to export your products; testing your ideas & market insight; pitching for finance and marketing strategy; developing your products and services; response to feedback.
  • 1:1 ongoing support and mentoring sessions with innovation, business growth and product development professionals.

The programmes will be run by leading innovation agencies Innovas and We Are Xpert and their teams of successful, experienced mentors.
