The course is to introduce you to new Barbering skills or enhance your existing Hairdressing skills.

You will cover barbering skills

clipper work

scissor over comb

clipper & guards

scissor cutting

razor & thinning scissors skills

Book on to the open evening in august 30 th 2011 between 4pm 7pm

What will I learn?

The course will teach you how to perform a varied range of Barbering skills: Cutting hair using scissor over comb technique Clipper & guard work Uniformed layer Graduation techniques Club cutting / layering Texturising Thinning out Point cutting

What are the entry requirements?

A minimum of 4 GCSEs (D or above) including English or successful completion of a Level 1 course with Functional Skills Maths and English).Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements will be assessed on an individual basis by the Curriculum Manager and Curriculum Director.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment takes place following working on clients and conforming to the NVQ guidlines for the qualification.

YOU SUPPLY THE CLIENTS FOR THE SESSIONS THEIR ARE AT LEAST 10 ASSESSMENTS SO A VARIED CLIENTEL IS REQUIRED

What could I study next?

You can progress onto a level 2 vrq course if your key skills levels meet the required standards their is also an option to progress onto a shaving and face massage course which is set as a level 3 units with City & Guilds and gain L3 qualification in face massage and shaving facial hair ( cut throat shaving )
