Is the course for me?

These Vocational Qualifications are applicable for people working, or wishing to work, in a wide range of hospitality and catering businesses, in a role such as:

· Front office

· Housekeeping

· Food and drink service

· Food production & Cooking

· Professional cookery - preparation and cooking

· Kitchen services

What will I learn?

In your chosen area you will demonstrate hands on knowledge of everyday working practices along with an understanding of your industry.

These qualifications are work-based qualifications, which will allow learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills essential for working in a hospitality environment, such as front of house reception, housekeeping or hospitality services skills, working with others and improving own performance

How will I be assessed?

To achieve the qualification you must achieve a minimum of 37 credits , each unit having a credit value. You will be observed by the assessor in your workplace at time arranged with you and your line manager. A portfolio of evidence can be created that demonstrates current ability. Feedback will be given on a regular basis until achievement of your qualification.

What could I study next?

These qualifications offer various opportunities for progression to further learning. Learners may progress onto the Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diplomas in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership and Professional Cookery.

Alternatively, learners may progress onto the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Hospitality.
