This course is for you if you are interested in not only learning the basics of processing financial data using SAGE accounting software but also gaining a recognised level 1 qualification in computerised accounting accredited by SAGE. SAGE is one of the most widely used, commercially available accounting software packages, subsequently many employers will favour candidates with experience in the use of this software when recruiting accounting personnel. Gaining a qualification in SAGE will demonstrate to potential employers that you have the skills necessary to carry out a range of day-to-day computerised bookkeeping routines.
You will learn what the role of the bookkeeper is within an organisation, bookkeeping processes and terminology, different types of bank transactions, how SAGE is used to process bookkeeping transactions and produce routine reports. There are four mandatory units which must be completed to achieve the IAB Level 1 Award in Computerised Accounting for Business, these are: Introduction to bookkeeping; Working within bookkeeping; Banking procedures and Computerised Accounting Software
A minimum of 4 GCSEs (E or above) with a willingness to learn and Entry 3 Maths and English.Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements will be assessed on an individual basis by the Curriculum Manager and Curriculum Director.
At the end of the course you will be assessed to ensure that you can demonstrate the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding required to meet the learning outcomes and objectives for each unit . Assessments will take the form of knowledge based tests and simulations.
Successful completion of this course allows progression to the IAB Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Accounting for Business. It will also allow entry on to the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
